07 Oct Island Fever | Roche Harbor Wedding
Washington state has so many breathtaking backdrops for weddings, with the San Juan Islands being one of my absolute favorites. I might be slightly biased since I chose to be married here myself, but as you can see by from the following photos, that bias is backed by some seriously jaw-dropping-gorgeous proof. I was giddy with excitement to return to Roche Harbor to document Chris and Maureen’s wedding, because as I’ve stated, it’s stunning and I have a personal connection, but most importantly because I absolutely adore Chris and Maureen and knew they would have an incredibly fun and love-filled day. They didn’t disappoint! Their ceremony was a beautiful tear-jerker filled with vulnerability and sincere love, only to be topped by some of the best wedding toasts I’ve witnessed. This isn’t to say that the day was solely a serious and emotional affair–far from it. It was just obvious that these two were meant to be together and everyone in attendance was thrilled to bear witness to and be a part of their story. As the evening approached with an incredible sunset, the emotions (mostly) subsided and the party kicked into full swing. The dance floor was never empty, the bride and groom took over the turntables for a little T Swift action, and when the venue space closed down, the guests took over the resort bar until last call. What more can I say? It was an awesome wedding and Chris and Maureen are married! Enjoy this peek into their day. P.S. A huge thanks to my awesome second photographer, Lindsay Borden!
